API 6A Valve
CDI OIL & GAS provides API 6A valves for high-pressure drilling, well testing, and production applications, available in multiple pressure ratings and bore sizes, configurable according to pressure class, material, and temperature, including gate, choke, and check valves suitable for wellhead systems, surface manifolds, pressure testing, and production operations.
An API 6A valve is a high-pressure valve designed and manufactured in accordance with API Spec 6A, the international standard developed by the American Petroleum Institute (API) for wellhead and Christmas tree equipment. These valves are specifically engineered to control, isolate, and regulate the flow of oil, gas, water, and other production fluids in upstream oil and gas operations. Common types include the API 6A gate valve, choke valve, and check valve, all of which are built to operate safely under demanding conditions such as high pressure, high temperature (HPHT), and sour service environments containing hydrogen sulfide (H₂S).
API 6A valves are widely used in wellhead systems, Christmas tree assemblies, choke and kill manifolds, drilling equipment, workover units, and production facilities. Whether installed on an onshore well, offshore platform, shale gas field, or high-pressure test system, these valves provide dependable shutoff and pressure isolation to protect personnel, equipment, and the environment.

What Are the Main Applications of API 6A Valves?
API 6A valves are engineered for the most demanding upstream oil and gas environments where safe pressure containment, reliable flow control, and long service life are critical.
From conventional onshore oilfields to deepwater offshore platforms, API 6A valves provide dependable shutoff, pressure isolation, and operational safety throughout the well lifecycle.
